Isles of Arcana – Development Update #1
Hey everyone!
Welcome to our first development update for Isles of Arcana! This update focuses heavily on new content, world improvements, multiplayer fixes, and overall gameplay polish.
🆕 New Content
This update introduces several new NPCs and encounters across the world, including:
Rotting Soldier
Fishfolk Knight
Silenus
Crocodiles in swamp biomes
Pudding mini-boss
The Arena has also received major additions with a brand new prefab, world event, and questline.
On top of that, several new craftable structures have been added:
Stables
Woodshed
Players can also discover a new rune puzzle, craft the new Jungle Tonic potion recipe, and experiment with new wand sound effects.
🌍 World & Gameplay Improvements
A brand new biome blending system has been implemented to help transitions between regions feel more natural and immersive.
Other gameplay improvements include:
Reduced overworld rain frequency
Increased resource node spawn rates in earlier biomes
Increased bronze node spawn rates
Increased coin pickup speed
Equipped items are now preserved on death
Rover can now be picked up after riding
Glass panels now correctly count as building walls
⚙️ Technical & Performance Improvements
A lot of behind-the-scenes work has gone into improving stability and performance.
Highlights include:
Improved offscreen collision handling for buildings, gates, and fences
Improved NPC pathfinding collision tracking
Increased object culling range from 64 → 128
Prefab cleanup scripts reducing prefab file sizes by roughly 40%
Improved minecart movement and collision handling
Minecart positions now correctly sync in multiplayer
🌐 Multiplayer Updates
Multiplayer has received several important fixes and optimisations:
Fixed NPC target switching issues
Reduced packet overhead when syncing NPC targets
Fixed multiplayer player position saving issues
Added lobby filtering to the lobby browser
Fixed lobby browser positioning issues when resizing the game window
🐛 Bug Fixes
This update also includes a large number of bug fixes, including:
Fixed cinematics overwriting player zoom settings
Fixed rare crash when equipment breaks
Fixed freezing effects not clearing correctly
Fixed frost potion warmth buff not resetting after death
Fixed cliff rendering popup issue
Fixed street lamp placement issue
Fixed cave sunshafts blocking object placement
Fixed solar panel rotation wiring offsets
Fixed greenhouse exit teleport issue sending players to the celestial realm

Added new D.A.V.E jumper lead cinematic
Added demo mode
Added developer console and level editor settings options
