Arcane Vale 0.1.6 is now live!

Hello adventurers!

Just a small patch today to address a few small bugs that were reported over the past few weeks and add some quality of improvements to Arcane Vale!

• Added improved out-of-bounds checks to several maps
• Fixed ‘pickup’ text for potions and bottles
• Fixed a bug that would not let you drop items you were not high enough level to use them
• Fixed a rare sound bug when hovering over the hotbar
• Added steam deck keyboard input functionality
• Added cabbage seeds to farming store inventory
• Destroying a wooden gate now returns the correct item
• Added new ‘gore’ option to the game settings (disables blood effects)
• Fixed shop bug that would take an additional item when selling 2 of 3
• Improved textbox scaling across multiple resolutions
• Quest items are now sorted to the bottom of the inventory rather than the top
• Fixed a bug that would mean you lost the pet wolf cub when choosing another pet

With the games launch on Switch finally complete I am now turning my attention back to adding new content to the game in future patches!

Arcane Vale 0.1.5 is now live on Steam!

Hello adventurers!

Just a small patch today to address a few newly reported issues and add a few quality of life changes. There has been alot of work going on behind the scenes and cant wait to show you more in future updates.

I am also happy to announce Arcane Vale has been approved for release on Nintendo Switch and will be coming out in a few months!

Also, trading cards have been released! This was a few weeks ago, but I never got to officially announce it. I was really excited to see the option had been unlocked for Arcane Vale to add community items and think they came out looking great!

Bug fixes –
• Fixed Milad dialogue selection bug
• Fixed Witch’s potion remaining in inventory after quest complete
• Fixed bug when speaking to Dennis that would allow you to repeat the warden distraction dialogue
• Fixed virtual keyboard on touchscreen devices not appearing
• Hotbar can no longer be activated during cut scenes
• Fixed switch double click sound when selecting character on gamepad
• Fixed rare bug with item unlock screen sometimes glitching when using workbenches
• Fixed bug that could cause you to lose the cat pet when taming another pet
• Fixed minimap diagonal movement on gamepad sometimes not working correctly
• Quest items are now sorted to the bottom of the inventory rather than the top

• Fixed Character creation name offset

Arcane Vale 0.1.4 is now live on Steam! New hotbar system + equippable ammo

Hello adventurers!

I am extremely happy to be moving version 0.1.4 from testing to live today! This update includes the highly requested hotbar system, a new dedicated ammo slot in the equipment screen, and several bug fixes.

New hotbar system –

By far the most requested addition since launch has been a hotbar. When designing the game I chose against adding one, but now that it is added and feeling good, I cant imagine it without one!

Items can either be dragged into the hotbar or added directly from the item-info screen. Once they are in the hotbar they will highlight then they are equipped, track durability and item count.

Dedicated ammo slot –

Your ammo of choice can now be equipped rather than the first projectile in the inventory being used. This should make it far easier to choose the right ammo for each fight!

Additions –

• Added new hotbar system (keys can be rebound in the game settings)
• Added ammo slot to equipment screen
• Added default language detection on initial game load
• Added new item equip sounds
• Added campfire to the workbench

Localization –

• Brand new simplified Chinese translations!

Fixes –

• Fixed language selection flags offset on 21:9 resolutions
• Fixed bug with fired projectiles sometimes vanishing when pausing the game
• Fixed character deletion button offset on 21:9 resolutions
• Removed equip option from stocks key
• Fixed gamepad slider visual glitch on mobile devices
• Fixed gamepad visual glitch when changing from 16:9 to 21:9
• Fixed bug when pausing the game quickly after attracting an item which could cause it to fly far away
• Fixed Ballian returning from a task visual glitch
• Fixed glowstick missing description in discovery items
• Fixed boss health bars sometimes flickering during fights
• Improved AI pathfinding when retreating
• Fixed bug when dying on the arena start point which could restart the battle

Balance changes –

• Reduced fiddlers attack range by 25%
• Fiddler will no longer respawn

Arcane Vale 0.1.3 is live on Steam – Improved collisions, bug fixes and more!

Hello Adventurers!

I am extremely excited to push Arcane Vale 0.1.3 from beta to live. This update features a completely new, and improved collision system for the game, which makes navigating through forests much easier!

Here you can see the new collision system in action, sliding off terrain and objects (Thank you Splattercat for pointing it out!)

Also included are some improvements to the farming system, specifically the hoe, which can now be used to transform farm dirt back into grass!

Here is the full list of changes –

Changes & additions –

• Implemented ‘slippery’ collisions – Improve collision/slide off stuff
• Large chests can now be unlocked and crafted at the workbench
• Town guards will now more actively hunt and kill any monsters that enter town
• Added region names to the map
• Added new goblin worker animations
• Banners can now be picked up
• Using the hoe on farmed dirt will now revert it back to grass
• Removed weapon slash effect from woodcutting axe
• Increase cull range of solid objects slight to prevent NPC’s bypassing fences

Bug fixes –

• Fixed a bug which would allow you to loot multiple ancient artifacts at once
• Fixed visual glitch when riding horses over fire
• Fixed a bug which would cause Andy to get stuck during the ‘Teach a man to fish’ questline
• Fixed repairing items sometimes causing the item to lose its upgrades
• Fixed a rare bug which could cause the sprinkler to randomly stop working until the game was reloaded
• Fixed crash when killing sharks in the ocean
• Fixed ‘Over the hill’ quest reward taking 300 gold instead of giving it
• Fixed visual glitch when using hoe on some tiles
• Fixed bug which would allow you to enter the pirates cove while mounting without the correct attire
• Sleeping bag now correctly draws player sprite

Localization –

• Several missing translated texts have been added, some new spelling mistakes fixed

Balancing –

• Increased Compsognathus level from 3 to 5

Temporary changes –

Surviving Titan 0.7.5 has now landed!

Hiya guys,

A very small update today to fix a bug I accidentally introduced in the 0.7.4 release, anyone that was having issues with the game crashing when loading this should resolve it. A few other minor changes too. Still working on the next big release, so stay tuned for that!

• Fixed game crash when near runes
• Mimics can now be destroyed with explosives
• Fished bug with leashed NPC’s returning home after unleashing
• Leashed NPC’s will now follow the player through water

• Fixed a GUI bug when dragging inventory items over slot objects
• Fixed NPC duplication glitch which could crash the game
• Ranged weapons now take durability damage when used
• Fixed bug with dock not allowing to be placed on water
• Fixed bug with placement system not allowing paintings to be placed over water
• Horses now slow down when being ridden in water

Surviving Titan 0.7.2 – Now with more horses!

Hiya guys,

Surviving Titan 0.7.2 is now live! This update includes rideable horses, sprinklers, improved interface, new cooking items and some balancing changes.

Here is a quick demo of the new and improved slot dragging system! You can now drag items directly into chests and other storage objects. And even between them!

Horses have also found their way onto Titan! These horses can be bred and ridden.. they are also a pretty good source of leather… but I didn’t suggest that!

There is also now a new way to gather rocks and ores too! It’s not a great weapon, but craft a drill at the synthesizer to mine rocks at a much faster speed than the pickaxe!

Surviving Titan 0.7.0 has now landed
New boss, several key changes to the farming system, a new building, an early version of the rail system!

Hiya guys,

Today I am releasing Surviving Titan 0.7.0 which is the largest post-launch update to date! This update includes a new boss, several key changes to the farming system, a new building, an early version of the rail system, several new items, hotbar rebinding and gamepad improvements!

Hotbar –

By popular request hotbar keys can now be rebound from the standard 1-9 to whatever you want, just toggle the option in the settings screen –

Farming –

There are several new items revolving around farming in this update, this includes the compost bincompostfertilizer and ultrasonic device.

The compost bin (craftable at the workbench) will take any organic materials you put into it and turn it into compost. This is a slow process so multiple bins are ideal.

The ultrasonic device (craftable at the synthesizer) will scare scavengers away from your crops at a much farther range than the scarecrow!

Crops will now display several new variables when hovering over or examining them, this includes their health, water and dirt quality. If a plant does not have any water it will begin to lose health over time. If a plant has both water and good dirt quality it will regain health and grow much faster!

Rail system –

There is a very early version of the rail system included in this update, it is a bit buggy and not feature complete but I plan to build on it in future updates. For now, you can just build a track and ride it but in the future, I plan for there to be more functional carts –

New building –

You can now craft a windmill at the carpenters table! The windmill is used to turn wheat into flour. It is a large structure so be sure to give it lot’s of space when placing!

New boss battle –

A new NPC has found its way to the firelands with some interesting, albeit dangerous abilities. Be sure to pay them a visit if you fancy a real challenge!

• Fixed weapons not drawing correctly after being resurrected by SHARD
• Fixed a small memory leak
• Items can now be quick-added to the hotbar while using a gamepad with (Y)

Surviving Titan 0.6.7 is now live!

Hiya guys,

I am extremely happy to be pushing version 0.6.7 out into the world! This update brings several quality of life improvements, a new survivor, a new quest and several new items to craft as-well as an array of bug fix’s!

One of the most popular requests was an auto-sort feature for chests, in addition to increasing their size. I am happy to say this is now available for all storage in the game –

I have also streamlined the way that cooking recipes display! Now only recipes that require more than one base ingredient will display by default, anything else will require you to have them in your inventory to cook –

Surviving Titan 0.6.3 has now landed!

Hiya guys,

Today I have been combing the discussion boards and picking up on all of the suggestions you have had to improve the core gameplay loop. One very common thing was the accessibility of storage in the early and mid game, with that in mind I have moved the small chest to a default crafting item at the workbench requiring only wood to craft. It’s base storage capacity has also been increased. At the carpenters table now is a default crafting recipe large chest, requiring only bronze and wood to craft.

Additionality I have fixed several persistent bugs, most notably resources respawning and removing your placed objects, pet pathfinding causing issues on some of the space maps, paintings and doors not showing correctly in player housing and a few other performance tweaks.

Version 0.6.3 should very shortly be available for you to play. I really hope you enjoy the changes and can’t wait to hear what you guys suggest next –

• Fixed a bug that meant some plants and resources would respawn over objects, removing them from the game
• Reduced respawn time of coal and clay
• Large space doors will now stay open after you go through them to help with npc/pet pathfinding
• Reduced lighting effects when shooting the flamethrower
• Added additional map warp check when leaving the igloo
• The small chest is now available to craft at the workbench
• The large wooden chest is now a default crafting recipe at the workbench
